Mangalore Car Rental Fee and Policy

1. Security Deposit / Rental Fee

For each booking made through the Mangalore Car Rental Platform, the Renter shall have to pay:

Rental Fee and Security Fee is calculated on the basis of the start and the end time of the trip including the make/model of the car is selected. The rental fee per hour changes dynamically based on the lead time to booking start, location of the booking, vehicle chosen and the duration of the booking. A minimum of RS. 2000 Security Deposit is required for any of the bookings along with Rental Fee. Minimum delivery fee of RS. 500 will be charged if you want the vehicle to be delivered to your address if your address is within 10 kilometer radius of our Mangalore office. Additional delivery charges will be added if the delivery address is located more than 10 kilometer of radius.

2. Refunds, Charges and Payments

All refunds shall be made through the original payment account / mode, 5 to 15 days. Refund initiation TAT 6 hours.
Any additional payments owed by Renters under this Fee Policy or other applicable policies will be paid by the Renter electronically within 24 hours of the booking end time, as per Mangalore Car Rental’s payment instructions.

The Renter shall ensure that the account from which the amounts are to be collected have sufficient funds or credit available to cover any charges and/or amount payable to Mangalore Car Rental. Renters are solely responsible for any associated bank or credit card charges or fees. Renters may be charged a processing fee for a declined credit or debit card payment.

In the event the Renter defaults on any payments, Mangalore Car Rental is entitled to charge reminder fees and default interest in accordance with the provisions of the law. In addition, Mangalore Car Rental may designate third parties to collect amounts owed to Mangalore Car Rental by a Renter.

Mangalore Car Rental reserves the right to prohibit a Renter from making a subsequent booking on the Platform until all outstanding fees in the Renter’s account have been paid in full. In the event a fee is incurred, the Renter will receive an email invoice from Mangalore Car Rental that will have detailed payment instructions.

Renter should not make any direct payments to the car Owner or to any Mangalore Car Rental executive in any mode.

Here is a comprehensive list of fees and penalties for certain scenarios after you have created your booking/reservation:

3. Cancellation

Cancellation made more than 24 hours before booking start time – No cancellation fee will be charged.

Cancellation made less than 24 hours before booking start time – charged 50% of the rental paid in advance. Refund of the remaining portion of Rental after deduction of the cancellation fee.

Cancellation made after booking start time – No refund of Rental paid in advance.

Notwithstanding anything contrary stated herein, Mangalore Car Rental reserves the right to withhold any refunds due to cancellations, if Mangalore Car Rental, at its sole discretion, perceives any credit card frauds by a user or where cancellations are made by a user with an intention to defraud Mangalore Car Rental.

4. Reschedule before booking start time

Modifications made > 12 hours before booking start – No rescheduling charges.

Modifications made < 12 hours before booking start – Not allowed. No refunds are applicable.

5. Extension

Allowed at any time before the expiry of the booking period. No extra charges, extension allowed at a normal tariff of the booking.

Upon expiry of the booking end time, fresh booking will need to be made.

For Doorstep Bookings (such as Home/ Airport Delivery): Extension within 2 hours of bookings end time will lead to cancellation of Doorstep Collection. No refunds shall be made for applicable doorstep collection charges . Renter shall be liable to to return car at Host’s location by himself

6. Shortening post start

Not allowed. However, Renters can drop the vehicle before booking end time. No charges or refunds applicable.

7. Shortening/Rescheduling within 24hrs of booking start or booking end.

Renter will not be able to change booking start time or shorten the booking end time. No refunds will be applicable. Nevertheless, Renter can anytime extend the booking, extension terms provided above (point 5 and point 6 of this Fee Policy) shall be applicable

8. Late Return

Late return would be charged at 1.5-2x of the hourly rental fee per hour as communicated at the time of booking. Fee will be charged on a half hour basis.

9. Pricing plan change

Pricing plan (free km per hour) cannot be changed post booking creation. Pricing will be charged on a half hour basis.

10. Free Kilometers

There is no limitation on kilometers for any of the bookings.

11. Minimum Duration

The minimum booking duration (also referred to as the “minimum billing duration”) for which a booking can be made by the Renter will be at least 8 hours.

12. Discounts

Discount is applicable only on trips of a duration equal or greater than 8 hours at the time of booking. Discount is applicable only on the Rental paid in advance to book the vehicle. Each discount will be governed by a separate set of terms and conditions as will be visible in details of the discount. Mangalore Car Rental reserves the right to cancel a booking if any unwarranted use of a discount coupon is identified.

13. Fuel Policy

The vehicle should be returned by the Renter, upon the completion of the booking, with a full tank of fuel.
If the Vehicle is returned with lesser fuel, then refueling charges using the applicable gasoline unit price per liter plus an additional inconvenience fee of RS.10,000 will be applicable.

Refueling charges – applicable gasoline unit price x difference in fuel level (in liters) + RS 20,000 ).

If the Renter returns the vehicle with more fuel than when it was received, Mangalore Car Rental will issue refunds for the excess fuel provided by the Renter.

14. Breakdown of vehicle

The cause of breakdown will be determined based on the diagnosis report of the repair workshop. The consequences will be as follows:

Where the Renter is at Fault: Renter will be liable for the full cost of repair.

Where the Renter is not at Fault: No liability on the Renter for repair and refund will be processed for the unused hours of booking.

Mangalore Car Rental shall not be liable for any costs borne by the Renter as a consequence of the breakdown of the vehicle.

15. Returning the vehicle to the wrong location

A flat fee charge of RS. 50,000 + full hourly rental fee for use of the vehicle + full fee for late return until the vehicle is returned to the correct location, up to 24 hours if the vehicle is dropped in the same city and up to 72 hours if the vehicle is dropped in a different city.

16. Traffic and Parking violations

Full payment of fines + RS. 10,000 per 15 days late in payment.

17. No Show

Bookings would stand cancelled if after 4 hours of booking start time the Renter still doesn’t show up. No refunds would be applicable.

18. Over speeding >= 125 km/hour

RS. 50,000 + all penalty fee applied in point 16 Further, expulsion from Mangalore Car Rental Platform if the Renter is found to be over speeding in at least two bookings.

19. Over speeding >= 150 km/hour

To result in expulsion from Mangalore Car Rental Platform

20. Smoking

All our cars are smoke free. A flat fee charge of RS. 20,000 plus applicable damage costs related to interiors (ex: chair cover. etc.).

21. Wrong Fueling

The Renter will be liable for the full cost of repair / damage to the vehicle + miscellaneous expenses arising out of the damages.

22. Key not returned at end of reservation

A flat fee charge of RS. RS. 20,000 plus replacement cost, if not returned within 3 days.

23. Loss of documents

A flat charge of RS. 50,000 will be charged for the loss of Registration Certificate Card/Car License etc.

24. Co-driver

A flat fee charge of RS. 10,000 if co-driver has not been added in the booking before booking start time.

25. Vehicle Damage (Accidental)

For any unintentional/accidental damage the Renter will be liable to pay for the damages as mentioned in the term for “Collision or other incidents – Damage protection package” (point 27 of this Fee Policy).

26. Vehicle Damage (Intentional or Consequential)

In case of any intentional damage or damage caused to the vehicle as a consequence of the Renter, such as (i) the Renter is found to be under the influence of alcohol during the booking period ; (ii) the vehicle workshop and/or insurance company deem the damage to be attributable to the Renter and/or the user; or (iii) a non-Mangalore Car Rental Renter is found to be the one driving at the time of the accident, Renter will be liable for the full cost of repairing damage caused to the vehicle and any other damages to Mangalore Car Rental, including, without limitation loss of expected revenue arising out of the damage to the vehicle.

27. Collision or other incidents

If a Renter is involved in an unintentional/non-consequential incident/accident (including but not limited to a collision or misuse of the vehicle), the Renter will be responsible for only the amounts as the Renter may have agreed for, upon selection of the Damage Protection Package at the time of booking the Vehicle. This Damage Protection Package will be based upon your Rental and duration of usage, distance covered, vehicle type etc. The Renter may choose from a Standard package (low premium and higher amount of damage payable) or Peace of Mind Package (high premium and lesser amount of damage payable).

Renter will be responsible for all towing, impounding and damage repair charges associated with a collision or an incident caused by improper usage of a car in violation of Mangalore Car Rental Policies and Applicable Traffic Laws as prescribed by the appropriate traffic authority.

28. Smell and Cleaning required

If Renter returns the car dirty, such that it requires cleaning either on the insides or on the outer body of the car, he/she will be charged a cleaning fee up to RS. 50,000.

For the interior, the charges are as follows:
1. For dirty removable (foot mats etc.) – RS. 20,000
2. For interior washing / dry cleaning (for seat covers, door panels, pet hair) – RS. 10,000.

29. Tolls

Renters are responsible for paying all tolls at the time they are due

30. Home / Airport Vehicle Pick-up and Drop

Home delivery or airport delivery will be available at an additional fee. Delivery Fee will be shown during booking stage

Car will be delivered to the address which Renter input during booking stage. The Renter may end the trip before completion of the booking end time. The Renter shall not be charged if he/she has ended the trip before the booking end time and the car is yet to be picked up by the delivery executive of Mangalore Car Rental.

If Renters want to extend booking, the procedure and the charges mentioned under point 5 of this Fee Policy will be applicable.

Additionally, the following conditions are also applicable to a Renter

All rates and fees inclusive of VAT, Income Tax and other statutory laws as applicable in Vietnam.

Handover pursuant to the original booking, extensions and modifications are subject to availability of the vehicle.

If a Renter violates the law or any applicable Mangalore Car Rental policies, for example by over-speeding or driving drunk, the Renter will be responsible for all damage, liability, and fines and could face legal action.

KYC – Renter’s profile on this Platform should be verified before the start of the booking. (Driving License & National ID/Passport along with a live Selfie)

Mangalore Car Rental will not be responsible for any property left in the vehicle after the booking is ended.
